On Monday 4 December 2017 AustCham West China were present at an event celebrating 45 Years of Diplomatic Relations between Australia and China. The event took place in the historic former Australian Legation building in Chungking (Chongqing), which operated from 1941-1946 (read more about this history at the Australian Consul-General in Chengdu’s Blog).

During the evening, hosted by Australian Consul-General in Chengdu Mr Christopher Lim, Australian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China Her Excellency Ms Jan Adams AO PSM and Ms Wang Wen, Deputy Director-General, Chongqing Foreign Affairs Office unveiled “45 Years, 45 Stories”: a collection of stories told from Australian and Chinese perspectives that speak to the breadth and depth of the friendship between our peoples (read more at http://en.45stories.com/)

AustCham West China members Australia Eastern Elevators Group (China) and Ozdragon International were both vital supporters of the event, contributing greatly to the atmosphere and the quality of the evening. Both companies are also strong supporters of the Chamber, with this being reflected in both of their key representatives being elected to the 2017-18 AustCham West China Board.

Guests were treated to great Australian wine and beer from Ozdragon International, a comprehensive buffet as well as a special cross-cultural musical performance by Chinese & Australian group Xi Miao.

We look forward to an ongoing peaceful and prosperous relationship between China and Australia.
