Tourism Australia has partnered up with Chinese social media giant, WeChat, to launch a City Experience Sydney guide. The pilot program, launched last week, enables Chinese tourists to navigate key Sydney destinations via the familiar WeChat platform.
Tourism Australia’s Andy Jiang, Country Manager, China, said that Chinese tourists’ tastes are “maturing,” and becoming “increasibly focused on individual, experiential travel.” Enabling Chinese tourists to explore Australian cities using WeChat will enable the Australian tourism industry to, “deliver more destination information on demand to high-value Chinese FIT travellers,” said Mr Jiang.
