Anzac Day Dawn Service in Chengdu

In the early hours of Tuesday 25 April 2017, Australians and New Zealanders from different parts of China and from further abroad came together in Chengdu for the Anzac Day Dawn Service.

There, we paid our respects to all those who have served and are currently serving in the Australian and New Zealand Armed Forces, with readings made by both the Australian and New Zealand Consul-Generals in Chengdu, returned servicemen, and young Ava Cook.

Commemorations took place globally, including large turnouts in Australia and at Anzac Cove, Gallipoli. Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull visited Australian troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, with Foreign Minister Julie Bishop at Gallipoli.
