Post-Event Update & Annual Report | AustCham Beijing Annual General Meeting 2016

Over 50 members attended AustCham’s 2016 AGM, held in the Chamber’s new event space at our Chaoyang office.

Chairman Tracy Colgan opened proceedings, explaining how the Chamber is adapting to better serve our members in a changing economic environment.

Over the past year the Chamber has invested greater resources in the secretariat and opened new facilities to deliver the tangible business outcomes our members demand. Another focus for the board is diversifying the Chamber’s revenue streams to build sustainability and strength going forwards.

Tracy also acknowledged the work done by retiring directors Kevin Zhang and Dave Garnier, thanking them for their contribution to the Chamber.

General Manager Nick Coyle followed, thanking departing staff Andrew Britz, Gabriella Yan and Echo Ye and welcoming Korri Weekes, Sherry Sun and Kristian Ricardo to the team.

Treasurer Russell Browne detailed the improving financial position of the Chamber and the board’s strategy for building a sustainable and strong balance sheet into the future.

The Deputy Head of Mission to the People’s Republic of China Justin Hayhurst thanked the Chamber for being a trusted and reliable partner in projecting Australia’s voice in China.

The assembly then unanimously elected six directors to the board:
